receiving Public Assistance Benefits with the goal of transitioning those receiving assistance to self- <br />sufficiency. And in June 2013, we expanded our Life Enrichment Center from 500 to 5,000 ft. and have <br />since increased the numbers served through transformational education programs by over 75% from <br />2012 to 2017. <br />The target populations we serve are families living in Indian River County with a household income at <br />or below 200% federal poverty level. Per the 2014 Asset Limited Income Constrained Employed <br />(ALICE) study released by United Way of Florida: 30% are working and making less income than their <br />expenses for basic needs such as housing, childcare, healthcare, transportation and food and 14% live <br />in abject poverty, which represents over 65,000 people in our county. <br />In Indian River County in 2017, an average of 541 families per day participated in the Member Share <br />Grocery Program and we provided 20,023 units of services that included emergency food boxes, <br />clothing and household services to our clients, referrals made to collaborative agency partners. Over <br />12,129 total households have registered and benefitted from hunger -relief services, 1,751 unique <br />individuals received crisis counseling to stabilize their lives, and 248 individuals worked with our <br />workforce development program to develop job skills and begin the job acquisition process. 134 <br />households increased their income, moving 98 families out of poverty toward self-sufficiency. <br />J. tjnet/y list any certmcations and/or accreditations obtained by your agency. <br />Our direct services staff is required to receive annual training from the Florida Department of Children <br />and Families in the areas of Security Awareness, HIPAA, Domestic Violence and Civil Rights; the "aha! <br />Process, Bridges Out of Poverty" and National Retail Federation `s Customer Service credential. <br />Additionally, staff receive training from the Retail Learning Institute, a division of Coca-Cola, an online <br />learning platform that provides internationally recognized certifications in Customer Service, Business <br />Ethics, Sexual Harassment, Professionalism, and Safety and Hygiene. All staff are certified Financial <br />Educators through the National Financial Education Council. <br />161 <br />
