If the Board <br />approves the request, funding for the equipment would have to be <br />appropriated from the 911 surcharge contingency account and a budget <br />amendment would be necessary. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />Representatives from the Vero Beach Police Department will be in <br />attendance at the Commission meeting to answer any questions which <br />inay-be raised.... The equipment will provide increased dispatch <br />capability as- well as a more timely response to inquiries into the <br />NCIC and FCIC network information systems through direct and <br />interface terminals at the -PSAP. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends approval of the funding request from the Vero Beach <br />Police Department and suggests that the Board authorize the necessary <br />budget amendment and sole source purchase of the capital equipment <br />noted above at a total cost not to exceed $16,653. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Eggert, the Board unanimously approved <br />funding for 911 equipment and authorized the <br />necessary budget amendment in an amount not to <br />exceed $16,653, as recommended by staff. <br />43 @OOK� PAGE 17 '- <br />November 1, 1994 <br />
