CHANDLER <br />- COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />FROM: H.T. "SONNY" DEAN, DIRECTO <br />DEPARTMENT OF -GENERAL SERVICE <br />BUWECT: NEW COURTHOUSE COMPLEX <br />CASH DRAWERS AND SAFE - CLERKS OFFICE <br />BACXGROUND: <br />Clerk of the Court, Jeff Barton. has requested specific cash drawers <br />and a safe be purchased for his office in the new courthouse. The <br />equipment requested is designed to facilitate the special handling <br />of money by his cashiers. <br />The architect, Pierce Goodwin Alexander and Linville, (PGA&L) was <br />originally charged with the responsibility of meeting with the <br />Clerk, specifying a safe that would meet the need, -and establishing <br />a line item budget. The budget submitted to this office was $1,200 <br />for this area of concern. HoweV'er, the equipment requested by Mr. <br />Barton will cost $10,668.35. <br />ANALYSIS: - <br />Since the amount is in excess of our authorized budget and the cost <br />exceeds our bid requirement, staff is requesting action by the <br />Board, to allow us to proceed. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Should this request be approved, the monies will come from the <br />construction budget contingencies. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Eggert, the Board unanimously approved <br />additional funds to purchase cash drawers and safe <br />for the Clerk's office in the new courthouse as set - <br />out in staff's memorandum. <br />44 <br />November 1, 1994 <br />
