Masonry screws, spikes, and drive -pins shall not be used to fasten edge/perimeter <br />nailers to concrete decks: Minimum 1/2" diameter anchors or bolts shall be used to <br />secure roof edge nailers to concrete substrates. <br />B. Wood to steel deck and light gage steel framing (16-ga. or less): <br />Shall be #14-13 =DPI, pancake or panhead, corrosion resistant, ASTM A153, FM <br />Approved, self -drilling and self -tapping screw, length to provide minimum 3 <br />pitches of thread through metal thicknesses. Acceptable manufacturers include: <br />a. <br />ITW Buildex Teks <br />b. <br />Concealor® <br />C. <br />Blazer <br />d. <br />SFS Intec <br />e. <br />Engineers accepted equivalent. <br />C. Wood to wood: <br />Screws: No. 10 or greater, stainless steel wood screws with flat head, or insulation <br />screws. Length to embed into base substrate a minimum of 1-1/2 <br />Nails: 8, 10 or 16 penny, stainless steel, ring shank nails. Length to embed into <br />base substrate a minimum 1-1/2". Acceptable manufacturers include: <br />a. Maze Nails <br />b. Anchor Staple and Nail <br />C. Swan Secure Products <br />d. Manasquan Premium Fasteners <br />e. Engineers accepted equivalent. <br />D. Wood to brick, concrete block, other masonry units, and solid concrete substrates: <br />Epoxy adhesive anchoring system: Minimum 1/2 inch diameter, corrosion <br />resistant threaded rods supplied by the anchoring system manufacturer, length as <br />required to provided minimum embedment as required by fastener manufacturer <br />based upon substrate being secured. Screen for substrate provided by fastener <br />manufacturer. Corrosion resistant nut and 1-1/2" diameter flat washer. Acceptable <br />manufacturers include: <br />a. Hilti Hit Hy -10 Plus <br />b. Powers Fasteners, Inc. AC 100 Anchoring System <br />C. ITW Ramset Epcon C6 Fast Curing Epoxy <br />d. Engineers accepted equivalent <br />E. Wood to solid concrete substrates: <br />Masonry screws, 1/4 inch minimum diameter, Type 410 stainless steel with flat <br />head. Length to provide minimum 1" embedment into substrate. Acceptable <br />manufacturers include: <br />a. Tapcon by ITW Buildex, <br />b. KWIK-CON II by Hilti <br />C. Powers Fasteners Tapper + <br />d.
