Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes-Final September 19,2018 <br /> County Administrator Jason Brown announced the proposed aggregate millage <br /> of 5.9950,which is 5.23%above the rolled back rate of 5.6969. He pointed <br /> out that the proposed aggregate millage is not paid by anyone; the State of <br /> Florida requires governments to announce the figure at each budget hearing. <br /> No Action Taken or Required <br /> 6. INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SITTING AS SOLID <br /> WASTE DISPOSAL DISTRICT BOARD <br /> The Board of County Commissioners reconvened as the Board of <br /> Commissioners of the Solid Waste Disposal District(SWDD). Those minutes <br /> will be approved at an upcoming SWDD meeting. <br /> 6.A. 18-2297 Announce 2018/2019 Proposed Charge and Budget <br /> Recommended Action: Adopt a resolution to approve non-ad valorem Residential and Commercial Waste <br /> Generation Unit Charge and Readiness-to-Use. Adopt Budget Resolution. <br /> Attachments: Solid Waste Disposal District Budget <br /> County Administrator Jason Brown announced that the proposed budget for 2018-2019 <br /> is $15,587,145, an increase of 3.6%over the current year. He outlined the 2018-2019 <br /> proposed non-ad valorem assessment rates for the Solid Waste Disposal District as <br /> follows: <br /> $73.03 per Residential Waste Generation Unit($116.85/House) <br /> (7.1%increase from current year) <br /> $40.50 per Commercial Waste Generation Unit <br /> (7.5%increase from current year), <br /> Readiness-to-Use Fee$24.60 <br /> (13.9%increase from current year) <br /> The Chairman opened the floor for public comments;there were no speakers and the <br /> Chairman closed the public comment session. <br /> There were no proposed amendments to the assessment rates. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Flescher, seconded by Commissioner Adams, <br /> to approve the Non-Ad Valorem assessment rates of$73.03 per Residential Waste <br /> Generation Unit($116.85/House),a 7.1% increase from current year; $40.50 per <br /> Commercial Waste Generation Unit,a 7.5% increase from current year; and <br /> Readiness-to-Use Fee of$24.60,a 13.9%increase from current year,for the Solid <br /> Waste Disposal District(SWDD); and to approve Resolution 2018-095,establishing <br /> the assessment rate to be levied upon all real taxable property in Indian River County, <br /> Florida,for Fiscal Year 2018-2019 for the Solid Waste Disposal District.
