The CCIRC works with the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce Tourism, <br />local cultural leaders and hospitality professionals in developing and implementing a strategic marketing <br />plan aimed at the cultural tourist. TDC funds help support the CCIRC's tourism; promotion and marketing <br />program through print publications, broadcast marketing, electronic promotion, outreach, programming <br />and advocacy. <br />The CCIRC continues its emphasis on promoting collaborative marketing opportunities, joint promotions <br />and projects that build even greater interest in cultural tourism. TDC funds will be used to continue to <br />exoand and enhance the added promotion of the Cultural Council's cultural tourism efforts. <br />The Cultural Council in partnership with Americans for the Arts in conducting Arts & Economic Prosperity <br />5 economic impact of 10 nonprofit arts and cultural organizations and their audiences in IRC provides <br />compelling evidence that the nonprofit arts and culture sector is a $24.9 million dollar industry in Indian <br />River County and generates $3 million in local and state government revenue. In Indian River County <br />researchers estimate that 25.1% of the attendees, 87,021, were non-residents of which 11,878 reported <br />at least 1 overnight.
