THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. The Motion was <br />voted on and carried unanimously (4-0, Commissioner <br />Eggert being absent). <br />ORDINANCE NO. 94-33 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, ADOPTING <br />NEW SECTION 304.09 OF THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY CODE <br />PROVIDING THAT AN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY CERTIFICATE OF <br />PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY SHALL NOT BE NECESSARY <br />FOR CERTIFICATE HOLDERS OF ADJOINING COUNTIES WHO PROVIDE <br />CERTAIN INTER -FACILITY GROUND TRANSPORT. <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County has adopted an ordinance pursuant to <br />Chapter 401, Florida Statutes, which sets out the requirements for emergency <br />medical service providers to obtain a Certificate of Public Convenience and <br />Necessity for providing non -emergency, inter -facility advanced life support <br />ground transportation and basic life support ground transportation= and <br />WHEREAS, this ordinance requires people providing ALS or BLS <br />non -emergency ground medical transportation which originates in Indian River <br />County to have an Indian River County Certificate= and <br />WHEREAS, for certain non -emergency, non -pre -hospital, inter- <br />facility ground transport of stabilized patients it is sometimes convenient <br />for ground transport providers who are certified by the adjoining counties to <br />be allowed to pick-up patients in Indian River County and transport them to <br />another facility in this county or in their adjoining county= <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows: <br />RECTION 1. <br />NEW CODE SECTION. <br />A new section 304.09 Indian River County Code is created as <br />follows: <br />Section 304.09. County Certificate Not Required for Certain <br />. Adjacent County Ground Transport Providers. <br />Advanced life support ground transportation providers and basic <br />life support ground transportation non -emergency providers who have a valid <br />.Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity from a county contiguous to <br />;and adjoining Indian River County are authorized to originate service in <br />NOVEMBER 22, 1994 20 <br />
