Request to Waive Bid Process for Caustic Soda Chemical. <br /> Recommended Action: Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners waive the <br /> requirement for bids for caustic soda for Fiscal Year 2018/2019 and authorize. <br /> the Purchasing Manager,.after approval by the Budget Office,to approve <br /> purchase orders and change orders for authorized firms up to the available <br /> budgeted amount. <br /> : :Attachments: Staff Report <br /> Director of Utility Services Vincent Burke reviewed the information in his staff <br /> report:requesting to waive the bid:process requirement for caustic soda used for <br /> the treatment of water. He concluded that since the price fluctuates for the <br /> chemical,the bid process would not yield the best prices. <br /> A motion was made by Vice Chairman Adams,seconded by Commissioner. <br /> • <br /> Flescher,to approve staffs recommendation. The motioncarried by the <br /> following vote: <br /> Aye: 5- Chairman Solari, Vice Chairman Adams, Commissioner Flescher, Commissioner <br /> O'Bryan, and Commissioner Zorc <br /> 12:G.2. 18-2571 Barrier 'Island.Reclaimed Water Main System Analysis <br /> Recommended Action: Staff recommends approval of Work Order No: 3 authorizing the mentioned <br /> professional services and requests the Board to authorize the Chairman to <br /> execute Work Order No. 3 on their behalf fora total sum amount of <br /> $102,800.00 to:Schulke,Bittle&Stoddard,LLC <br /> Indian River County Florida . .
