Board of County Commissioners <br />Meeting Minutes - Final January 15, 2019 <br />10.A.2. 19-0027 <br />County Attorney Dylan Reingold delivered the purpose of the Ordinance, stating <br />that Section 125.68(1)(a), Florida Statutes, requires counties to maintain a current <br />codification of all ordinances, and an annual publication of such codification. <br />Chairman Solari opened the Public Hearing. There being no speakers, he closed <br />the Public Hearing. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner O'Bryan, seconded by Commissioner Zorc, <br />to adopt Ordinance 2019-003, amending Section 100.03 "Amendment or Repeal of <br />Ordinances" of Chapter 100 "General Provisions" of the Code of Indian River <br />County ("The Code"), codifying and publishing the ordinances up to and <br />including Supplement 129 thereto, readopting the Code, designating the Code as <br />the best evidence of the current law of Indian River County, Florida, and <br />providing for severability, codification, and an effective date. The motion carried <br />by the following vote: <br />Aye: 5 - Chairman Solari, Vice Chairman Adams, Commissioner Flescher, Commissioner <br />O'Bryan, and Commissioner Zorc <br />Public Hearing: Ordinance Amending Section 210.01 and Section <br />210.03 of the Code regarding the fourth cent of the Tourist Development <br />Tax (Legislative) <br />Recommended Action: Staff Recommends that the Board of County Commission opens the Public <br />Hearing, and after the hearing all public comments, the Board approves the <br />draft ordinance as proposed <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />Draft Ordinance <br />Staff Report (12/18/18) Historic Dodgertown Facility Lease Agreement <br />County Administrator Jason Brown recalled that on December 18, 2018, the <br />Board approved the Historic Dodgertown Facility Lease Agreement with Major <br />League Baseball (MLB). In association with that item, staff recommended that <br />the Board amend County Code to allow the 4th cent of the Tourist Development <br />Tax to be expended to promote and advertise tourism. Administrator Brown <br />reviewed the authorized uses of the tax revenue, and presented the draft <br />Ordinance for Board approval. <br />The Chairman opened the Public Hearing. There were no speakers, and the <br />Chairman closed the Hearing. <br />Vice Chairman Adams noted that the Tourist Development Council (TDC) was <br />supportive of the proposed change. <br />Indian River County Florida Page 8 <br />
