December 10, 2018 <br />Sheriff Deryl Loar <br />Indian River County Sheriff's Office <br />The Honorable Bob Solari, Chairman <br />Indian River Board of County Commissioners <br />1801 27th Street <br />Vero Beach, FL 32960 <br />Dear Chairman Solari: <br />The Indian River County Sheriff's Office has been engaged in collective bargaining with the <br />International Union of Police Associations (IUPA) representing the Deputy Sheriff (Law <br />Enforcement) bargaining unit since April of 2018. The single article of the collective <br />bargaining agreement open for negotiations is the article involving wages. The Indian River <br />County Sheriff's Office seeks to schedule an executive session (as allowed under F.S. <br />447.605) with the Board to discuss this article as it involves a significant financial impact on <br />the agency's budget. This meeting is exempt from F.S. 286.011. Present at the executive <br />session for the Sheriffs Office will be Undersheriff James Harpring. In addition to the Board, <br />it is requested that County Administrator, Jason E.
