DASIE BRIDGEWATER HOPE CENTER <br />8445 64th Ave, Vero Beach, FL 32967 1 www.dasiehope.org <br />Dasie Hope Center Tutorial Program <br />Grant: $40,000 <br />Funds Used: $40,000 <br />Total Children Served: 63 children Cost Per Child: $634.99 <br />Focus Areas Addressed: Childcare/Child Health & Education <br />Taxonomy #: JR -820.650-45 <br />Program Description: This program is designed to help educate and ensure the safety of youth <br />who normally would have to stay unsupervised in their homes after school or throughout the <br />day because their parent(s) are working. <br />Program is designed to: Empower at risk youth with academics and social skills. Our priority is to <br />"break the cycle of poverty" by sending kids to college, improving their academics, behavioral <br />thought patterns and surrounding them with positive role models. <br />Collaboration: Indian River County School District, Disney Resort, Publix Supermarkets, Indian <br />River Sheriff's Department, Sea Oaks and Mardy Fish Foundation <br />GOALS AND OUTCOMES <br />Outcome #1: Increase in academic performance measured by grades on report cards and <br />assessments. 70% of students attending the tutorial program that receive services will <br />perform on grade level or above in Math and English. Baseline: Students academic report <br />card for 2017-2018 <br />Result: Goal Met. 87% of students improved grades for 4th quarter. <br />Outcome #2: Students will be mentored, provided supportive relationships and parents will <br />be involved in the academic process. 80% of students will show improvement in confidence, <br />learning ability, and decision making measured by pre/post surveys. Baseline: Students <br />2017-2018 Pre/Post-surveys <br />Result: Goal Met 100% of youth have been tested. 92% of youth showed improvement. <br />Outcome #3: High school students will receive academic support to graduate and gain 21st <br />Century Workforce Skills (creativity, innovation, teamwork and leadership). 70% of high <br />school students will graduate high school or gain career skills. ** This outcome is specific to <br />high school students** Baseline: Students 2017-18 report/discipline reports. <br />Result: Goal Met 100% of high school youth graduated. <br />23 <br />56 <br />
