Roadway Design Standard Index No. 505, Embankment Utilization Details is <br />modified by the addition of the following: <br />Any stratum or stockpile or soil which contains obvious pockets of highly organic <br />material may be designated as muck or unsuitable for construction of subgrade by <br />the Owner. <br />Backfill material containing more than 2.0% by weight of organic material, as <br />determined by FM 1-T 267 and by averaging the test results for three randomly <br />selected samples from each stratum or stockpile of a particular material, shall not <br />be used in construction of the reinforced volume. If an individual test value of the <br />three samples exceeds 3.0%, the stratum or stockpile will not be suitable for <br />construction of the reinforced volume. <br />No A-8 material permitted in embankment. <br />E. Payment shall be made under: <br />Bid Item No. 120-1 — Excavation, Regular (Including Exfiltration Trench and <br />Haul- off) - Per Cubic Yard <br />SECTION - 283 — RECLAIMED ASPHALT PAVEMENT BASE <br />DESCRIPTION - This work is the in-place construction of a Reclaimed Asphalt Base <br />Course, using either reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) material and/or reclaimed <br />aggregate material (RAM), and existing road base material combined with virgin <br />aggregates and/or bituminous material. It is the intent of this contract to recycle 100% of <br />the existing asphalt pavement and part or all of the existing base course to ensure that the <br />completed reclaimed base course will be of a consistent material and thickness throughout. <br />This will include, but is not limited to, all existing asphalt pavement adjacent to all concrete <br />curbing, storm sewer inlets, manholes, sanitary sewer manholes, and all utility valve boxes. <br />This item will include, but not be limited to moving the base material to the boxed out <br />sections for the proposed paved shoulder, imported select material required to meet the <br />proposed sections on the plans, grading, compaction, prime and tack coat, sawcut and <br />removal of existing materials for driveways and side streets. <br />CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS - Bidders shall have a minimum of three years of <br />experience in the construction of reclaimed asphalt base course. Bidders shall provide a <br />list of five successfully completed full depth reclamation projects within the State of Florida <br />along with contact information for the Owners of those projects, and the completion date <br />for each project. Bidders shall also provide a list of the major equipment that will be used <br />on this project. <br />SUBMITTALS — Submit Mix Designs for Reclaimed Asphalt Base Course and detailed <br />Traffic Control Plan to the County for approval prior to the start of construction. <br />Submittals must be transmitted to the County a minimum of 3 working days prior to the <br />start of construction. <br />BASE COURSE DESIGN - The Contractor shall review the core data provided for the <br />existing roadway and shall perform testing and/or coring prior to submitting a Bid to verify <br />that the Cold Recycled Bituminous Base Course Mix Design or the Reclaimed Asphalt <br />01025-16 Technical Specifications <br />F:\Public Works\ENGINEERING DIVISION PROJECTS\1362-OId Dixie Hwy_Highland Dr\1-Admin\Bid Documents\Master Contract <br />Documents\Technical Specifications.doc <br />
