r y: <br />}k <br />WHEREAS, the County and American Coastal Engineering, Inc. together <br />have vigorously pursued obtaining permits from the various regulatory <br />agencies for the installation of the reef to be completed by September, 1994, <br />and the County has committed funds for permitting fees, physical modeling, <br />numerical modeling, and monitoring cost in addition to the funding of the <br />PEP reef; and <br />WHEREAS, the delays experienced have prevented the installation of the <br />PEP reef prior to the anticipated stormy seasons of the fall in 1994; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: <br />1. The Board continues to be concerned with the potential damage to the <br />beach and shoreline of Vero Beach and Indian River County. <br />2. The Board remains committed to implementing an experimental PEP reef <br />project in Vero Beach. <br />3. The Board urges the regulatory agencies to expedite the solutions to <br />any remaining issues for permitting of said project. <br />4. The Board will continue to pursue the implementation of the PEP reef <br />project with a revised installation schedule for early 1995, weather <br />permitting and upon receipt of all regulatory agency approvals. <br />5. The Executive Aide to the Board of County Commissioners is directed to <br />forward copies of this resolution to the Secretary and Assistant <br />Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection and the <br />Director of the Division of Beaches and Shores. <br />The resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner Eggert , <br />and the motion was seconded by Commissioner Bird , and, upon <br />being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: <br />Chairman John W.
