Board of County Commissioners <br />Meeting Minutes - Final May 21, 2019 <br />tir of the Indian River County Department of Utility Services Water, Wastewater, <br />and Reclaimed Water Construction Standards - May 2019, as presented <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />Attachment A - List of Revisions to Standards <br />Director of Utility Services Vincent Burke presented the May 2019 Utility <br />Construction Standards Update. He made mention that the proposed revisions <br />were sent to local developers and engineering firms for feedback via email on <br />February 20, 2019. He concluded that no comments have been received to <br />date. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner O'Bryan, seconded by Vice Chairman <br />Adams, to approve staffs recommendation. The motion carried by the following <br />vote: <br />Aye: 4 - Chairman Solari, Vice Chairman Adams, Commissioner O'Bryan, and <br />Commissioner Zorc <br />Absent: 1 - Commissioner Flescher <br />12.6.2. 19-0434 West Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility Hydro Cleanse Installation and <br />Upgrades <br />Recommended Action: The staff of Indian River County Department of Utility Services recommends <br />that the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) waive the requirement for bids <br />and approve the MKI Services proposal to permanently install the GritCleanse <br />Unit with upgrades as outlined in the proposal received. Staff also recommends <br />the BCC authorize the Purchasing Division to issue a purchase order to MKI <br />Services in the amount of $119,325 <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />MKI Services Proposal <br />Director of Utility Services Vincent Burke used a PowerPoint Presentation to <br />deliver the pilot program test results from the new technology Hydro <br />International GritCleanse unit, and noted that the pilot program was provided <br />by Moss Kelly International (MKI Services) and Hydro International at no cost <br />to the County as a possible alternative to repairing the two SlurryCup/Grit Snail <br />units. Director Burke reported the benefits of cleaner and dryer grit and the <br />reduced level of organic material in the final product. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner O'Bryan, seconded by Commissioner Zorc, <br />to approve staffs recommendation.
