® s � <br />The Chairman asked if anyone else wished to be heard in this <br />matter and, there being none, he closed the public hearing. <br />Commissioner Bird stated that he is in favor of leaving the <br />ordinance as it is but would be agreeable to adding a case -by -case - <br />basis condition for Board approval. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, that the Board adopt Ordinance <br />95-02 Amending the Code of Ethics and Conduct, <br />Section 104.06 of the Indian River County Code as <br />amended, pursuant to staff's recommendations. <br />Under discussion, County Attorney Vitunac was requested to <br />amend the Ordinance in keeping with the Board's suggestions to <br />remove the name of any particular organization, and to add a <br />condition that prior approval must be obtained for events outside <br />of the county or for events offered solely to units of county <br />employees. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED THE QUESTION and <br />the motion was unanimously approved. <br />ORDINANCE 95-02 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, AMENDING THE .CODE OF ETHICS AND <br />CONDUCT SECTION 104.06 OF THE INDIAN RIVER <br />COUNTY CODE. <br />WHEREAS, The Board of County Commissioners at its regular <br />meeting of July 19, 1994 adopted a new code of ethics for employees and <br />commissioners; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board at time of adoption said it would revisit the <br />code after experience had been gained as to its effectiveness; and <br />WHEREAS, experience has shown that certain conduct should not <br />be prohibited, <br />JANUARY 24, 1995 29 <br />
