Davis, P.E., <br />Public Works Directo <br />SUBJECT: Professional Engineerin Architectural Services for <br />Blue Cypress Lake Restroom Buildings <br />DATE: January 16, 1995 FILE: BLCYPRR.AGN <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Due to the completion of the Blue Cypress Lake Wastewater Treatment Plant, the County staff <br />recommended that it would be more cost effective to construct a new restroom building at the <br />park near the bait store rather than connect the existing restroom building to the lift station. <br />Funding for the project will come from Florida Boating Improvement Program funds. <br />To implement design, staff has advertised for professional architectural and engineering services. <br />Three firms responded as follows: <br />Angelo Francis Corva & Assoc. Architects - Melbourne, FL <br />Edlund & Dritenbas Architects - Vero Beach, FL <br />W.K. McCully & Assoc. - Vero Beach, FL <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />A selection committee consisting of Jim Davis, Public Works Director, Terry Thompson, Capital <br />Project Manager, and Jim Romanek, Parks Supt. reviewed the submittals from the three firms <br />and have ranked them as follows: <br />1) Edlund & Dritenbas <br />2) W.K. McCully & Assoc. <br />3) Angelo Francis Corva Assoc. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends approval of the above prioritized short list and requests authorization to begin <br />contract negotiation with the No. 1 ranked firm, Edlund and Dritenbas Architects. Once an <br />agreeable contract is prepared, staff will present it to the Board for approval. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board unanimously approved <br />the prioritized short list and authorized staff to <br />begin contract negotiations with Edlund and <br />Dritenbas Architects; as recommended by staff. <br />JANUARY 24, 1995 48 <br />BOOK 94 <br />0 <br />
