Attachment A <br />Budget and Scope of Work <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: <br />The purpose of this Scope of Work (SOW) is to mitigate at -risk areas and decrease the risk of damage <br />or loss of life from wildfires in Indian River County, Florida, funded through the Hazard Mitigation Grant <br />Program (HMGP) DR -4283-95-R, as approved by the Florida Division of Emergency Management <br />(Division) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). <br />The Sub -Recipient, Indian River County, agrees to administer and complete the project as submitted by <br />the Sub -Recipient and subsequently approved by the Division and FEMA. The Sub -Recipient shall <br />complete the work in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and Local Laws, Regulations and <br />Codes. <br />PROJECT OVERVIEW: <br />As a Hazard Mitigation Grant Program project, the Sub -Recipient proposes to implement a countywide <br />program for wildfire management; to reduce the potential for wildfires that adversely impact residents <br />and businesses, by creating defensible spaces in the ten identified sites listed below in Indian River <br />County, Florida. <br />The proposed scope of work shall reduce fuel loads and thus create defensible spaces in areas where <br />County -owned conservation lands abut existing development.
