<br />Expenses for 2019/20_
<br />• Salaries - $20,802,429, an increase of $720,770 or 3.6%
<br />• Benefits - $10,790,623, an increase of $841,720 or 8.5%
<br />• Operating - $6,088,420, an increase of $326,548 or 5.7%
<br />• Hydrant Maintenance - $149,551, an increase of $551 or 0.4%
<br />• Capital - $2,169,250, a decrease of ($2,251,231) or (50.9%)
<br />• Other Users - $2,189,188, an increase of $996,666 or 83.6%
<br />• State Forestry - $13,822, or 0.0% remained the same
<br />Administrator Brown announced that the proposed budget total for the
<br />Emergency Services District (ESD) was $42,203,283, an increase of
<br />$635,024 or 1.5%. He continued that the Ad valorem tax roll has a 7.14%
<br />increase, generating $2,280,599 in additional revenue; however, the millage
<br />rate would remain the same from last year even though the County added
<br />three new fire stations, and 13.5 full-time positions including a Fire Chief
<br />position with half of their salary from the Emergency Services District
<br />fund.
<br />Commissioner Flescher questioned if there was funding in the budget for
<br />Station 7. Administrator Brown explained that there was funding for
<br />Station 7 and Station 15, currently housed in modular buildings, until the
<br />County can acquire land to build Station 7 and Station 15.

<br />John O'Connor, 2076 35th Avenue, President of the International
<br />Association of Firefighters Local 2201, requested an increase in the millage
<br />rate for employee retention.
