Board of County Commissioners <br />Meeting Minutes - Final July 17, 2019 <br />Chairman Solari commented about how the aquatic centers, conservation <br />lands and parks were beneficial for the community. <br />The Chairman opened the floor for public comments; there were none. <br />TRANSPORTATION FUND <br />111-214 ROADS AND BRIDGES <br />111-243 PUBLIC WORKS <br />111-244 COUNTY ENGINEERING <br />111-245 TRAFFIC ENGINEERING <br />111-281 STORMWATER <br />19-0652 <br />Attachments: Transportation Fund <br />Transportation Fund Budget Overview: <br />• Staffing increase - Three (3) full-time positions, $159,883 <br />• Increased Health Insurance Costs - $171,420 <br />• Increase in Engineering Fees effective March 1, 2019 - $210,000 <br />increased revenue <br />Administrator recommendations for Transportation Departments: <br />• Road and Bridge - $8,585,978, a decrease of ($603,167) or (6.6%) <br />• Public Works - $362,756, a decrease of ($11,004) or (2.9%) <br />• County Engineering - $2,943,260, an increase of $197,473 or 7.2% <br />• Traffic Engineering - $2,676,292, an increase of $86,155 or 3.3% <br />• Stormwater - $1,078,028, an increase of $72,438 or 7.2% <br />• Total Transportation Departments was $15,646,314, a decrease of <br />($258,095) or (1.6%) <br />Administrator Brown explained that included in the Transportation Fund <br />Budget was an additional full-time position at Osprey Park to help maintain <br />the Stormwater Park that recently opened, a full-time position in Traffic <br />Engineering, and an increase in the Health Insurance Cost in the amount of <br />$171,420.00. He concluded that the Board approved an increase in <br />Engineering fees effective March 1, 2019, and the increased revenues of <br />$210,000, would help offset the costs. <br />Indian River County Florida Page 8 <br />
