(NOTE: 26 LETTERS OF OPPOSITION WERE RECEIVED FROM PROPERTY <br />OWNERS IN DIXIE GARDENS.) <br />Jim Long, 9340 101st Court, Vero Lake Estates; was not in <br />favor. He advised he has a serious drainage problem and reported <br />there was trash on county property on 93rd Street where building <br />materials had been thrown on the side of the road. <br />Chairman Macht requested that staff investigate fully and <br />agenda an item concerning trash removal procedures. <br />Teresa Torcielo, land owner on 86th Street, spoke of major <br />problems and high costs for water in her New Jersey home town. She <br />was not in favor of the project. <br />Walter Fred, 750 5th Avenue SW, spoke against the plan saying <br />that 98% of the people in the neighborhood have good water and <br />could not afford the assessment. <br />Scott Vickers, 8885 98th Avenue, was not in favor and said <br />that they could not afford to pay for something they do not want. <br />George Hewett, 3750 97th Avenue, lived outside the project <br />area, but doesn't want water where he lives. <br />Elizabeth Mason, 665 27th Avenue, Dixie Heights, advised that <br />some of the signatures on the petition of 550 signatures might not <br />be from Vero Lake Estates property owners. <br />Tom Clark, Vero Lake Estates, said he was in the water <br />business, could provide good water to anyone who wanted it at a <br />much lower cost and was,not in favor of the project. <br />Gary Webster, 8926 103rd Street, advised that he and his <br />fiancee worked for the county, and they were not in favor of the <br />plan. He advised of a $.5 million machine the County owns that <br />can't do its job. <br />Chairman Macht directed staff to investigate the machine to <br />which Mr. Webster referred. <br />Henry Lyelle, Sebastian, owner of six lots and two homes in <br />Vero Lake Estates stated he has perfect well water and is not in <br />favor of the plan due to the cost. He inquired about the Fellsmere <br />system built under the Farmers Home Administration provisions. <br />Waldo Allen, owner of a lot in Vero Lake Estates, resident of <br />Sebastian, advised he was not in favor of the plan. <br />Bob Struck, 8826 104th Court, stated he has good water but <br />wanted the drainage.
