He <br />operates an agricultural consulting firm in our area and has a keen interest . in promoting <br />sustainable agricultural operations in our county. DeBlois, AICD � <br />Chief, Environmental Planning <br />DATE: February 20, 1995 <br />RE: Request for Approval of Intergovernmental Management <br />Agreement for IRC School Board Environmental Education <br />Activities at the Oslo Riverfront and Blue Cypress Marsh <br />Conservation Areas <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal consideration by <br />the Board of County Commissioners at its regular meeting on February 28, 1995. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />In January, 1995, the Indian River County School Board received grant approval <br />from the St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD) for environmental <br />education activities on SJRWMD owned conservation lands. Specifically, the <br />School Board has developed a proposed 1995 grant work plan for educational <br />activities at the Oslo Riverfront Conservation Area and Blue Cypress Water <br />Management Area (see attached maps). <br />As a formality of the approved environmental education grant, SJRWMD requires <br />that an Intergovernmental Management Agreement (attached) be executed by <br />applicable parties. Because Indian River County is 1/2 owner of the Oslo <br />Riverfront property and is involved in management of a portion of the overall <br />Blue Cypress Water Management Area, the County is a party to the Agreement. <br />Therefore, it is requested that the Board execute the attached Intergovernmental <br />Management Agreement. <br />FEBRUARY 28, 1995 � - <br />
