Does your Board of Directors set the policies for your agency? <br />YES. <br />This agency is a HUD continuum of care which is required to set policies and procedures regarding <br />homeless services development in response to the HUD requirements for funding eligibility. It must also <br />meet the State Office on Homelessness' eligibility requirements for the administration and financial <br />management of the State grants and other homeless services funds. The agency also is required to meet <br />confidentiality requirements and practices for the ethical treatment of clients. Beyond those minimum <br />mandatory requirements, the Board does set policy regarding administration, financial management and <br />operations, including staffing and other personnel issues, management of real estate investments <br />holdings and other areas of non State and Federal operations of the Council. <br />3. Is there a quorum requirement for Board members attendance at your agency board meetings? <br />YES- There is a quorum requirements <br />Board Members or their legal designees are required to attend 75% of formally scheduled Board <br />meetings or face being removed. Attendance is monitored. <br />4. Please explain the rotating volunteer structure of your Board members and officers. <br />One third of the Board, annually, is replaced. Positions are rotated by soliciting volunteers to <br />initially serve a one, two or three year term. Board elections are formal. The slate and solicitations are <br />noticed to the full Council membership for elections which take place on the date of the Annual meeting. <br />Board members are formally elected by Council Members in good standing. Ballots are sent out prior to <br />the annual meeting. Board Members are voted in using a secret ballot. Write ins are acceptable at the <br />Annual meeting.
