Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes - Final November 19, 2019 <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />Committee Members Term Renewal <br />Vacancies List (Term Exp 2020) - Info Only <br />Non -Renewal Vacancies List - Term Exp 2020 <br />County Attorney Dylan Reingold detailed the reappointment process for the various <br />committee members with an expiring term of January 2020, and provided a <br />compiled list of the members who wish to have their term renewed. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner O'Bryan, seconded by Vice Chairman Flescher, <br />to reappoint the committee members seeking a renewed term, as presented in staffs <br />report. B.1.) <br />Public Relations and Facilities Operations Director Freddie Woolfork, and <br />Peggy Gibbs, Director of Philanthropy, Gifford Youth Achievement Center <br />(GYAC), requested a change in the County Ordinance that would allow alcohol, <br />to be served by licensed professionals at special evening events at the GYAC. <br />Ms. Gibbs clarified that the events would not be gala fundraisers, but social <br />gatherings to thank their benefactors and supportive donors. <br />Commissioner Solari inquired regarding the number of events at which they <br />would serve alcohol. Ms. Gibbs replied that it would be one (1) or two (2) <br />events per year, with Commissioner Solari suggesting that it be limited to two <br />(2) times per year. Vice Chairman Flescher agreed to the limitations on <br />serving alcohol and suggested it to be consistent with the Ordinance that exists <br />for the Indian River County Fairgrounds and IG Center. Vice Chairman <br />Flescher referred to County Attorney Dylan Reingold to determine whether the <br />GYAC facility lease could be modified to include the language that alcohol <br />could be served at the facility. <br />Indian River County Florida Page 13 <br />
