Board of County Commissioners <br />Meeting Minutes - Final January 14, 2020 <br />Chairman Adams spoke in support of following the recommendation by counsel <br />and remaining focused on safety. She mentioned the County's lawsuit against the <br />State of Florida as another legal avenue being explored. She felt that the County <br />should invest their resources where they would make the greatest impact. <br />Commissioner O'Bryan and Vice Chairman Flescher were in agreement with the <br />Chairman. <br />For clarification purposes, Vice Chairman Flescher requested and received an <br />understanding of the en banc process from Attorney Reingold. <br />Mr. Preschlack addressed the Board an additional time to request that they delay <br />their decision until January 21, 2020. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner O'Bryan, seconded by Vice Chairman Flescher, <br />to approve staff's recommendation. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />Aye: 4 - Chairman Adams, Vice Chairman Flescher, Commissioner O'Bryan, and <br />Commissioner Solari <br />Nay: 1 - Commissioner Zorc <br />The Chairman called for a recess at 10:44 a.m., and reconvened the meeting at <br />10:52 a.m., with all members present. <br />Following the recess, Commissioner Solari added comments regarding the train to <br />make it known that the County's fight was not over. With regard to a train station <br />in the City of Vero Beach and the topic of safety, he provided comments that were <br />made at the January 7, 2020 Vero Beach City Council meeting. <br />13.B. 19-1206 2020 Committees Vacancies <br />Recommended Action: <br />The County Attorney recommends that the Board review the applicant's resume and <br />application, and determine whether to appoint David W.
