Mr. Johnson stated that 87th Lane in the <br />Whitfield Subdivision was not platted, will not be paved, and no <br />water line will be installed; but fire protection will be provided. <br />All homes in both subdivisions will be covered for fire protection. <br />92% of the homes in the subdivisions qualified for the program <br />although the requirement was only for 51%. <br />Commissioner Bird inquired about the sewer system and Mr. <br />Johnson responded that the sewers are not being done at this time <br />due to the exorbitant cost. <br />Commissioner Eggert reported that a meeting was held yesterday <br />with the neighbors who asked excellent questions and are cheering <br />the project. <br />The Chairman opened the public hearing and asked if anyone <br />wished to be heard in this matter. There being none, he closed the <br />public hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board by a 4-0 vote <br />(Commissioner Tippin being absent) approved the <br />application and authorized the Public Works Director <br />to submit the application to the Florida Department <br />of Community Affairs, pursuant to staff's <br />recommendations. <br />APPLICATION WILL BE ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK <br />TO THE BOARD WHEN EXECUTED AND RECEIVED <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board by a 4-0 vote <br />(Commissioner Tippin being absent) adopted <br />Resolution 95-46 Authorizing the Public Works <br />Director to make application to the DCA for a <br />Neighborhood Revitalization Category Community <br />Development Block Grant. <br />Mr. Johnson requested the opportunity to give the Board an <br />update on the Fair Housing Workshop held on March 20, 1995. This <br />was an informational meeting regarding the Fair Housing Ordinance <br />adopted by the Board, with handouts being given to the real estate <br />industry. The County earned 10 extra points on the grant <br />application for holding this informational meeting regarding <br />obligations to the public. They reviewed the handouts with the <br />industry representatives and gave them an 800 number for documents, <br />MARCH 21, 1995 <br />
