IRC-1838 Indian River County <br />Main Library <br />Roof Replacement 01 35 00-3 Hot Work Operations <br />E. The Contractor shall be responsible for properly training and instructing fire watch <br />personnel of their responsibilities and duties. <br />F. Fire watch shall meet the Owner’s requirements as dictated by the Hot Work Permit <br />Program. <br />G. Contractor shall monitor the work area and building interior, and coordinate monitoring <br />process with the Engineer and Owner 48 hours in advance of hot work. Contractor shall <br />ensure proper hot work procedures are maintained in all curbs, ducts, concealed spaces <br />and building interior. <br />3.4 FIRE PREVENTION AND FIRE SAFETY <br />A. Fire prevention and fire safety shall be the Contractor’s responsibility. Contractor shall be <br />responsible for developing a pre-fire emergency plan, coordinated with the Engineer and <br />Owner to plan for fire emergencies. <br />B. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to enforce fire safety precautions and to ensure <br />safety measures are followed at all times by the Contractor’s and Subcontractor’s <br />personnel. <br />C. Contractor shall be responsible for maintaining sufficient fire suppression equipment, <br />including fire extinguishers and a charged water hose. <br />END OF SECTION 01 35 00
