IRC-1838 Indian River County <br />Main Library <br />Roof Replacement 01 40 00-3 Quality Requirements <br />B. Owner Responsibilities: Where quality-control services are indicated as Owner's respon- <br />sibility, Owner will engage a qualified testing agency to perform these services. <br />1. Owner will furnish Contractor with names, addresses, and telephone numbers of <br />testing agencies engaged and a description of the types of testing and inspecting <br />they are engaged to perform. <br />2. Costs for retesting and reinspecting construction that replaces or is necessitated <br />by work that failed to comply with the Contract Documents will be charged to Con- <br />tractor. <br />C. Contractor’s Responsibilities: <br />1. Repair and protection of work and materials are Contractor’s responsibility. <br />2. Should any work or materials not conform with requirements of the Specifications <br />or become damaged during the progress of the work, such work or materials shall <br />be removed and replaced, together with any work disarranged by such alterations, <br />at any time before completion and acceptance of the project. All such work shall <br />be done at the expense of the Contractor. <br />3. Contractor will coordinate documents with manufacturer and perform such testing, <br />reporting, and communication incidental to provisions of the warranty procedures. <br />D. Manufacturer's Field Services: During construction and until substantial completion, man- <br />ufacturer’s representative shall perform quality assurance site visits every ten working days <br />to ensure materials are being properly installed and as required to obtain the specified <br />warranty. <br />1. The first site visit shall be performed within the first three (3) days of operations. <br />2. Coordinate all site visits with Engineer. Submit reports of findings within one week <br />of inspection. Payment applications will be rejected until applicable reports are <br />received. <br />3. Inspections to be performed by an employee of the selected manufacturer that is <br />assigned full time to their technical services department. Sales personnel will not <br />be acceptable for this function and may result in rejection of the work installed that <br />does not fulfill this requirement. <br />4. Manufacturer’s final inspections shall be performed only with REI personnel in at- <br />tendance. A minimum of seven days’ written notice is required. Any manufac- <br />turer’s final inspection conducted without REI personnel in attendance will be re- <br />peated at no additional cost to the Owner. <br />5. Any violation of this requirement will result in the removal of that manufacturer for <br />a period of not less than one year from the Engineer’s accepted materials list. <br />E. Retesting/Reinspecting: Regardless of whether original tests or inspections were Contrac- <br />tor's responsibility, provide quality-control services, including retesting and reinspecting, <br />for construction that revised or replaced Work that failed to comply with requirements es- <br />tablished by the Contract Documents. <br />F. Associated Services: Cooperate with agencies performing required tests, inspections, and <br />similar quality-control services, and provide reasonable auxiliary services as requested. <br />Notify agency sufficiently in advance of operations to permit assignment of personnel. Pro- <br />vide the following: <br />1. Access to the Work. <br />2. Incidental labor and facilities necessary to facilitate tests and inspections. <br />3. Adequate quantities of representative samples of materials that require testing and <br />inspecting. Assist agency in obtaining samples. <br />4. Facilities for storage and field-curing of test samples. <br />5. Preliminary design mix proposed for use for material mixes that require control by
