IRC-1838 Indian River County <br />Main Library <br />Roof Replacement 07 62 00-5 Sheet Metal Flashing and Trim <br />2. Slip flashing shall extend a minimum of 2 inches below base flashing termination <br />and shall fit tightly against curb. <br />3. Secure slip flashing 12” on center of a minimum of two fasteners per side of the <br />curb. <br />4. Notch and lap ends of adjoining sections not less than 4”; apply sealant tape <br />between sections. <br />5. Lap miters at corners a minimum of 1 inch and apply sealant between laps. Rivet <br />at 2” on center. <br />E. Multiple Pipe Penetration <br />1. Fabricate pitch pan, pipe enclosure flashing, and closure cap as shown in detail <br />drawings. Refer to SMACNA Architectural Sheet Metal Manual Figure 8-8B or 8- <br />9A depending upon direction of pipes. <br />2. Size pitch pan minimum 2" larger than the penetration on all sides. Provide a 4" <br />minimum flange and double walls with minimum depth of 6". <br />3. Set flange of pitch pan in full bead of roof cement and strip-in flange of metal edge <br />as specified. <br />4. Install 2" wide aluminum tape around all sides of pitch pan extending 1/2" above <br />top edge. <br />5. Fill pitch pan with non-shrink grout to a depth of 2" from the top of the tape. <br />6. Fill pitch pan with pourable sealer to the top of the tape. Slope to shed water. <br />7. Secure pipe enclosure flashing and cap as indicated in detail drawings. <br />8. Clean and solder all seams. <br />F. Base Flashing Closure <br />1. Install new closures where base flashings abruptly end. <br />2. Completely solder or seal all joints to be watertight. <br />3. Install closures over membrane and under finish ply of base flashing. <br />4. Extend closures up under counterflashings or copings. <br />5. Install closures to completely seal ends of base flashings, membrane and cants as <br />well as end joints of edge metal. <br />3.3 CLEANING AND PROTECTION <br />A. All sheet metal work shall be thoroughly cleaned of all asphalt, scrapes and dust. <br />B. Scratches through the metal finish shall be replaced to the Owner’s satisfaction. <br />END OF SECTION 07 62 00
