D WASTE DISPOSAL DIST <br />FROM: SAM ROHLFING, RECYCLING COORDINATOR <br />SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL DISTRICT <br />SUBJECT: SECOND QUARTERLY RECYCLING AWARD <br />BACKGROUND <br />As we discussed late last year, the recycling awards presented to <br />a person or entity who displays a superior interest and <br />participation in and furtherance of recycling are now quarterly. <br />They are to be presented at a regular BCC meeting by the BCC <br />chairman and are to include a framed certificate and additional <br />appropriate gift items (recycling canvas bag, coffee mug, donated <br />gift certificate to dinner.) <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff proposes that the second quarter award' be presented to <br />Dennis Green, Vero Beach Public Works Director, for his <br />initiation of and commitment to the city's business recycling <br />program. We request that this award be given during the BCC <br />meeting April 18, 1995. Information on the recipient for use by <br />the presenter is attached. <br />On behalf of the community, Vero Beach Mayor Warren Winchester <br />presented the Second Quarterly Recycling Award to Dennis Green, <br />Vero Beach Public Works Director, who expressed his appreciation <br />for receiving the award but added that he felt it was something <br />deserved by all of Vero Beach. <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />A.
