Commissioner Bird asked the approximate date she started <br />applying outside for positions. Miss Freeman responded that she <br />had always applied for them since being employed with Indian River <br />County, and not just the six months in question. <br />Attorney Collins asked Mr. King if he said to "appease Mrs. <br />Lopresti?" Mr. King said he did not. Attorney Collins asked Mr. <br />King if he said Miss Freeman "would be fired." Mr. King responded <br />he couldn't do that because Personnel regulations don't allow it, <br />and he wouldn't make a comment like that. <br />Deputy County Attorney Collins summed up and asked the Board <br />to uphold Mr. Chandler's determination that Mr. Wright was proper <br />in terminating Lisa Freeman's employment. <br />Attorney Stone summed up on various points stating that all <br />problems began when Mrs. Lopresti came to work for the Department <br />of Emergency Services. He requested that Lisa be reinstated to <br />County employment on whatever grounds they wanted. <br />Attorney Vitunac instructed the Board on the standards for <br />their decision. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Eggert, <br />SECONDED BY Commissioner Bird, to deny the <br />appeal and uphold Mr. Chandler's determination <br />for termination. <br />Commissioner Adams addressed Lisa Freeman saying she has <br />always found her to be a very courteous and likeable person, <br />however, it would be very difficult for her to go back.
