Roles and Responsibilities <br /> Accountable Executive Role and Responsibilities <br /> The Senior Resource Association Executive Director is designated the Accountable <br /> Executive for the SMS. The Executive Director is accountable for ensuring that the <br /> SMS is effectively implemented and resourced throughout Senior Resource <br /> Association, and for ensuring action is taken, as necessary,to address any degradation <br /> in safety performance at Senior Resource Association. <br /> Chief Safety Officer Role and Responsibilities <br /> The Transportation Director has been designated as the SMS Executive. The <br /> Transportation Director is responsible for: <br /> • Facilitating full implementation of the SMS across Senior Resource Association; <br /> • Advocating for a safety culture; <br /> • Conducting strategic planning for the SMS; <br /> • Managing and updating SMS processes based on experiences and lessons <br /> learned; <br /> • Reviewing and updating this SMS and Implementation Plan and PTASP at least <br /> annually; <br /> • Providing additional guidance material (as required)to further strengthen and <br /> clarify the SMS processes; <br /> • Monitoring the safety performance of Senior Resource Association operations <br /> and activities through formal data collection and analysis; and <br /> • Tracking safety-critical issues and corrective actions to conclusion, using <br /> appropriate tracking systems. <br /> • Leading internal safety audits with support from appropriate Senior Resource <br /> Association employees; <br /> Directors, Managers Roles and Responsibilities <br /> All directors and managers are accountable and responsible for: <br /> • Upholding and promoting safety policies, and safety risk management, safety <br /> assurance, and safety training and communication protocols; <br /> • Fostering a strong safety culture within their department; <br /> • Allocating the appropriate staffing resources necessary to become compliant with <br /> and maintain compliance with the SMS requirements <br /> • Identifying the necessary funds to meet the safety performance requirements and <br /> incorporate them into budgeting plans,prioritizing and allocating expenditures <br /> according to safety risk. <br /> • Implementing the safety risk management, safety assurance, and safety training <br /> and communication protocols of their department; <br /> • Safety performance within their functional areas; <br /> • Ensuring procedures are consistent with the SMS; <br /> • Determining and implementing countermeasures required to counteract safety <br /> risks and manage issues that negatively impact Senior Resource Association <br /> safety performance; <br /> 92 <br />
