3 ) <br />4/3/89:2(LEGAL)12eso1(Vk)RB <br />. 00' ` <br />rys1, tti <br />*t i <br />�} RESOLUTION NO. 89-35 <br />,rf `A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, <br />fit BY ITS BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, <br />AUTHORIZING THE SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL DISTRICT <br />TO 'APPLY FOR ANY AND ALL GRANTS AVAILABLE TO <br />THE COUNTY FOR WASTE OIL COLLECTION AND <br />RECYCLING, AND AUTHORIZING THE SOLID WASTE <br />DISPOSAL DISTRICT TO UTILIZE THESE FUNDS FOR <br />IMPLEMENTATION OF A WASTE OIL RECYCLING <br />PROGRAM OUTLINED HEREIN. <br />WHEREAS, Indian River County, at great expense, <br />assumed full responsibility for the management and disposal <br />of the solid waste stream generated in the municipalities <br />and unincorporated areas of the county; and <br />WHEREAS, waste oils are prohibited in the county <br />landfill and must be collected and recycled; and <br />WHEREAS, it is essential that the Solid Waste <br />Disposal District provide to the public a means of safe <br />management, collection, and recycling of waste oils; and <br />WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Environmental <br />Regulation (DER) provides grant funds for used-oil recycling <br />projects; and <br />WHEREAS, the DER has authorized for disbursement to <br />Indian River County a preliminary waste oil recycling grant <br />of $21,080; and <br />WHEREAS, prior to providing final approval of the <br />grant, the DER requires that the Board of County <br />Commissioners approve, by resolution, the specific waste oil <br />recycling program for which the grant funds are to be <br />expended, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the <br />Solid Waste Disposal District is authorized and requested to <br />continue its pursuit in obtaining waste oil recycling grant <br />funds and to utilize those funds in the implementation of <br />a waste oil recycling program, including but not limited to <br />the following: <br />With the proposed grant funds, the Solid Waste <br />Disposal District intends to establish four oil recycling <br />
