Substance Awareness Center <br />RE -DIRECT <br />Grant: $110,000 <br />Funds Used: $80,147 <br />New Clients Served: 159 <br />Clients Successfully Completed: 129 <br />Clients Referred to Higher Level Care: 7 <br />Unsuccessful: 2 <br />Focus Area: Middle and High School Programs that Address Risky Behavior <br />Taxonomy Number: RX 8250 Drug Abuse Education/Prevention <br />Program Description: ReDirect targets adolescents ages 12-18 with risky behaviors correlated with substance <br />use and co-occurring disorders. The ReDirect program proposes to re -direct and motivate adolescents and their <br />patents towards a substance free, pro -social lifestyle. SAC follows science -based best practices and modalities, <br />which are designed to help engage and engage families in positive change: utilizing a non -judgmental, <br />motivational and proven effective approach for successful outcomes. <br />During this report period 11 youth were identified in our high risk track requiring more intensive monitoring, <br />services, and intervention. <br />GOALS/OUTCOMES REPORT <br />Outcome #1: 80% of program participants with indicated ATOD use will demonstrate reduced use of ATOD as <br />evidenced by negative drug test results during the course of the program and as a requirement for successful <br />program completion. <br />• 100%of the indicated successful completers demonstrated reduced ATOD as evidenced by negative drug <br />tests. <br />• 88% of the youth on post survey state they would refuse if someone asked them to drink alcohol. <br />Outcome #2: 80% of clients will demonstrate an increase in positive coping skills as evidenced by pre and post- <br />test surveys <br />• 100% of the successful completers demonstrated increased positive coping skills as demonstrated by <br />group participation and survey. <br />• Post-test survey demonstrates 79% of participants stated when faced with a problem or difficult decision <br />they would take a deep breath and tell themselves they could figure it out. <br />• Post-test survey demonstrates 83% of participants would refuse someone who is trying to get them to <br />do something they don't want to do. <br />• Post-test survey demonstrates 88% of participants would use a goal setting model to create and make <br />progress towards achieving a goal. <br />• Post-test survey demonstrates 67% of participants would do a breathing exercise to reduce stress. <br />• Post-test survey demonstrates 75% of participants said that when they want to understand other people, <br />they would repeat back in their own words to make sure they understood them correctly. <br />• Post-test survey demonstrates 91% of participants believe the skills they learned in the program will help <br />them in their relationships with friends. <br />0 Post-test survey demonstrates 83% of participants believe the skills they learned in the progr;lr47vill help <br />
