03/09/2021 10.A.1. <br />Recommendations: Code Changes -Assessments <br />➢ From March 15, 2021, through June 14, 2021, the County will waive all penalties that <br />accrued beyond the original term of the special assessment if the owner pays the <br />outstanding principle plus the initial interest that accumulated during the term of the <br />special assessment. <br />➢ From March 15, 2021, through May 6, 2022, the County will waive 75% of all penalty and <br />interest that accrued beyond the originalterm of the special assessment if the owner <br />pays the outstanding principle plus the initial interest that accumulated during the term <br />of the special assessment. The owner will be required to sign a payment agreement prior <br />to May 6, 2021, in order to qualify for this option. <br />➢ For any special assessment accounts that are delinquent as of month 48 of the <br />assessment period, staff shall notify the owner that the County will seek foreclosure if the <br />account is not brought current within 60 days. If the owner fails to do so, the utility <br />director or designee shall make a final settlement offer in lieu of foreclosure. If the <br />attempt to settle fails, staff shall work through the county attorney to seek foreclosure. <br />Pq` 5 <br />
