Proposed Budget <br />21-0833 <br />Attachments: 2 Total Proposed Budget and Millage Rates <br />Through the use of a PowerPoint presentation, County Administrator Jason <br />Brown announced that the fiscal year (FY) 2021/22 proposed budget for the <br />County is $428,052,912, a decrease of $56,043,112 from the current year <br />budget as of March 31, 2021. <br />County Administrator Brown provided an overview of the major impacts to <br />the budget for FY 2021/22, which included a tax roll increase of 5.19% <br />Countywide and 5.09% in the unincorporated area. He pointed out there <br />was an increase of $2.9 million, as agreed to by the Sheriff (a reduction <br />from the initial request of a $3.6 million increase) and continued funding of <br />School Resource Officers at 500/o/50% split with the School District. He <br />detailed the other impacts to the budget which included: Senate Bill 712 <br />(Water Bill), increases in the Building Division Permit Fees, Children's <br />Services Funding, the Florida Retirement System rate, and continued focus <br />Indian River County Florida Page 1 <br />
