Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes - Final October 12, 2021 <br />2201 effective the first full pay period in October 2021 and requests the Board <br />authorize its Chairman to sign the First Amendment to October 1, 2019 Collective <br />Bargaining Agreement, Article 34 - Salaries providing for the general wage <br />increase. <br />Attachments: Staff Report <br />First Amendment to IAFF Agreement <br />Exhibit A <br />County Administrator Jason Brown stated that an agreement had been reached <br />between the County and the International Association of Firefighter's, Local 2201 <br />(IAFF, Local 2201), which included a 4% wage increase with an effective date of <br />October 1, 2021. <br />Mr. John O'Connor, Union President of the IAFF, Local 2201, addressed the Board <br />with appreciation for the investment in the community. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Earman, seconded by Chairman Flescher, to <br />approve staff's recommendation. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />Aye: 5- Chairman Flescher, Vice Chairman O'Bryan, Commissioner Adams, Commissioner <br />Earman, and Commissioner Moss <br />11.C. 21-0964 2022 Legislative Priorities <br />Recommended Action: Presentation and Discussion <br />Attachments: Staff Memo - Legislative Update Presentation <br />2022 Preliminary State Legislative Program <br />Kathleen Keenan, Legislative Affairs and Communications Manager, referred to <br />staffs memorandum dated June 9, 2021, to update the Board on the County's <br />legislative priorities for the 2022 Florida Legislative Session, which was scheduled <br />to take place in Tallahassee from January 11, 2022, through March 11, 2022. <br />The Commissioners were pleased with the package presentation. Commissioner <br />Moss inquired about the concern titled Housing Assistance listed under the Health, <br />Human Services and Public Safety Policies concerns. Ms. Keenan stated that it <br />had been carried over from a previous session and could be removed if it was the <br />direction of the Board. <br />A motion was made by Vice Chairman O'Bryan, seconded by Commissioner Adams, <br />to approve the 2022 Legislative Priorities as presented. The motion carried by the <br />following vote: <br />Aye: 5 - Chairman Flescher, Vice Chairman O'Bryan, Commissioner Adams, Commissioner <br />Earman, and Commissioner Moss <br />12.
