Indian River County has both formally and informally coordinated <br />with the County School Hoard and other local governments which <br />provide services to the unincorporated areas of the county. There <br />are several specific areas in which Indian River County has <br />successfully coordinated with local governments. Examples include <br />the establishment of a county -wide traffic impact fee system and <br />the creation of a county/city building department. The county has <br />also participated with the cities of Vero Beach and Sebastian in <br />joint recreation programs. Representatives from both Indian River <br />County and its municipalities have established several joint <br />committees, including the Transportation Planning Committee, the <br />Economic Development Council, and the Parks and Recreation <br />Committee. There has also been joint county/city meetings between <br />Indian River County and the cities of Vero Beach and Sebastian. <br />The 1990 Plan will include provisions for more formal coordination <br />mechanisms between Indian River County and other governmental <br />entities. <br />Indian River County has consistently coordinated with the Treasure <br />Coast Regional Planning Council as well as state and federal <br />agencies. Coordination has taken place primarily through the <br />project and plan review processes. Indian River County has also <br />coordinated with the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council in <br />the implementation of the 1982 Comprehensive Plan. Any revisions, <br />requirements or requests regarding the Comprehensive Plan have <br />been submitted to the necessary governmental bodies. In addition, <br />Indian River County has continued coordination with the Health <br />Department regarding the County's septic tank and well permitting <br />programs. The 1990 Plan will ensure that effective coordination <br />with other governmental bodies continues. <br />19 <br />
