INTERGOVERNMENTAL COORDINATION C <br />The Intergovernmental Coordination Element for the 1982 <br />Comprehensive Plan contains four objectives: <br />1. The county must keep the adjacent counties, <br />municipalities, and other taxing districts continuously <br />informed as to the development and implementation of the <br />Comprehensive Plan. <br />2. All request for annexation in the unincorporated areas <br />of the county shall be administered in accordance with <br />Chapter 171 Florida Statutes. <br />3. Indian River County will continue to coordinate with the <br />County School Board and other local governments which <br />provide services to the unincorporated areas of the <br />county. <br />4. Indian River County will continue to coordinate with all <br />Regional, State and Federal agencies. <br />A. Coordination with Treasure Coast Regional Planning <br />Council shall be a priority in coordinating the <br />implementation of the Comprehensive Plan and major <br />development projects. <br />B. Revisions, requirements or requests regarding the <br />Comprehensive Plan shall be submitted to the <br />Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council and the <br />State of Florida, Department of Community Affairs. <br />C. Particular attention will be given to coordination <br />of any and all information with respect to the <br />Indian River County Solid Waste Programa The <br />County Health Department shall be kept well <br />informed. <br />Assessment <br />Indian River County has participated with regional and local <br />entities for the coordination of regional and local matters, <br />primarily through various review processes. The county has also <br />maintained contact with state, regional and local governments with <br />regard to the development and implementation of the Comprehensive <br />Plan. This includes the creation of the Comprehensive Plan <br />Technical Advisory Committee for 1990 comprehensive plan <br />development. <br />Indian River has coordinated with the municipalities within the <br />county regarding annexation in the unincorporated areas of the <br />county. Those_ annexations that have occurred since adoption of <br />the 1982 Plan have followed the regulations specified in the State <br />Statute. <br />18 <br />
