J< 'xG¢,f'$ v b"'t':Y iw r a. wt` l t
e tt
George Beuttell , 5000 16 `" Street, Vero Beach, wanted to point out that even though
there is not a citrus grove at the location , 360 acres of citrus groves have been abandoned
in that vicinity . He felt that was proof that citrus groves cannot be operated in the area . He
felt it was fairness for him to be able to use his property at its highest and best use . The
people who live in the Aerodrome live on one unit per acre and this proposal would only
give him that same ability to be able to develop his property .
Isabel Dayton , 4220 6t"
Lane, 32968 , advised that her father bought property prior
to the Aerodrome and he did not protest when it came in ; she was sorry the Aerodrome
people were opposed to this change .She spoke of change and how people must be able to
adjust to change .
Jim Young, 400 Sopwith Drive , 32968 , has moved north as development has come
in to areas where he lived in south Florida . It did not look like something like this was going
to occur when he moved to the Aerodrome about 13 years ago .He left Dade County and
other counties and sees the same things happening here . He was against this proposal .He
felt 3 units/acre is very high density and will cause a lot of problems .
David Gay ,1465 6 " Street , who owns property along
151 Street SW near 82 "
Avenue , was of the understanding that this area was outside of the urban service area and
would remain that . He felt there is plenty of land within the urban service area now that is
not being utilized .The reason for this proposal is more for profit and it could be used for
viable agriculture , even though it might not be citrus . He felt there are others willing to use
it for agricultural purposes , or no one would object to 1 unit per 5 acres .There should be
more reason to change property designation than just to increase profits . He feared adjacent
parcels would soon be developed and it would not be long before his property would be
encroached upon by developments .
Gwen Garner, 8520 Waco Way , 32968 , advised that as of 9 am , there were over
i
October 16 , 2001
103
Ery f a t3 7 L
