<br />All work associated with both projects is now complete and the Department of Environmental
<br />Protection has issued clearance to begin connecting customers . The Department of Utility Services is
<br />now prepared to make final payment to the Contractor.
<br />ANALYSIS
<br />Change Order Nos . 1 & 2 increased the original contract by $85 , 648 . 00 to $ 1 ,450, 602 . 00 . The
<br />Contractor was previously paid $ 1 , 054, 729 . 80 for 72 . 1 % of the project.There were miscellaneous
<br />adjustments made to the amount of material used in the job (i . e . number of services, amount of pipe
<br />fittings, number of fire hydrant, etc . ) . Change Order No . 3 reduces the contract amount by
<br />1587271 . 00 (see attached copies of Change Order No . 3 ) . Change Order No . 4 adjusted the
<br />contract, due to work associated with the bridge refurbishment plus included an additional service
<br />in the assessment project for a total reduction of $ 5 , 042 . 00 .
<br />The total of Change Order Nos . 3 & 4 reductions ($ 163 ,313 . 00) results in a 11 . 26% decrease to the
<br />approved contract and adjusts the contract amount to $ 1 ,287,289 . 00 . Utilities staff is now
<br />requesting final payment in the amount of $ 232 , 559 . 20 to complete the County ' s $ 1 ,287 , 289 . 00
<br />obligation to the Contractor.
<br />RECOMMENDATION r ”
<br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the Board of County
<br />Commissioners approve Change Order Nos . 3 & 4 , approve final payment in the amount of
<br />232 , 559 . 20 to Tri-sure Corporation, and authorize the Chairman to execute same , as presented .
