G. Reinforcement shall be cleaned of all scale and excessive rust. All reinforcement <br />shall be set with the standard accessories as per ACI 315-74. Minimum coverage <br />of reinforcement shall be as follows: <br />1. Footings — 3" minimum. <br />2. Slabs —3/4" minimum. <br />3. Beams and Columns—1-1/2" minimum. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 PROPORTIONING AND MIXING <br />A. Concrete Mix: <br />1. All cast -in-place concrete shall be ready mixed and in accordance with <br />ASTM Specifications C-94 (Latest Edition). <br />2. Minimum 5 bags cement per yard of concrete. <br />B. Concrete Strength: <br />Unless specifically noted otherwise, all concrete shall have a minimum <br />compressive strength of f c = 3000 psi. <br />2. A design mix shall be prepared by a Florida Registered Professional <br />Engineer employed by the concrete supplier. <br />3. The Contractor shall submit to the Architect/Engineer the concrete <br />materials and the concrete mix designs proposed for use with a written <br />request for acceptance. This submittal shall include the results of all <br />testing performed to qualify the materials and to establish the mix designs. <br />C. Job Tempering_ <br />All Concrete shall be placed within 1'/z hours after introduction of water to <br />the mix. <br />2. Under no condition may additional water be added that exceeds the <br />allowable gallons stipulated on the batch ticket. <br />3. Submit time stamped batching tickets on delivery of concrete to job site. <br />4. All concrete where grater has been added will be removed and replace with <br />proper concrete at no cost to the Owner. <br />03300-4 <br />
