SECTION 05400 - LIGHT GAGE METAL FRAMING <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 RELATED DOCUMENTS N OTHER SECTIONS <br />Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary <br />Conditions and Division -1 Specification sections, apply to work specified in this section. <br />1.02 DESCRIPTION OF WORK <br />Extent of lightgage metal framing (LtGMFrm) is shown on drawings. <br />Types of lightgage metal framing units include the following: "C" shaped steel studs. <br />1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Components Design: Compute structural properties of studs and joists in accordance <br />with AICS "Specification for design of Cold -Formed Steel Structural Members". <br />B. Fire -Rated Assemblies: Where framing units are components of assemblies indicated <br />for a fire -resistance rating, including those required for compliance with governing <br />regulations, provide units which have been approved by governing authorities having <br />jurisdiction. <br />C. Manufacturers offering products complying with requirements for lightgage metal <br />framing components include the following: <br />Shaped load bearing studs, 1-5/8" flange: <br />Alabama Metal Industries <br />Marino Ware <br />Dietrick <br />Roll Form Products, Inc. <br />U.S. Steel Corp. <br />Wheeling Corrugating Co. <br />1.04 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Products data: Submit manufacturer's product information and installation <br />instructions for each items of lightgage framing and accessories. <br />B. Shop Drawing: Submit shop drawings for special components and installations not <br />fully dimensioned or detailed in manufacturer's product data Signed and sealed Shop <br />Drawings required by a Florida Registered Structural Engineer. Include placing <br />drawings for framing members showing size and gage designations, number, type, <br />locations and spacing. Indicate supplemental strapping, bracing, splices, accessories, <br />and details required for proper installation. <br />05400-1 <br />
