CAPITAL CONTINGENCY <br />99.99.00 <br />9,200 <br />TOTAL FEDERAL FUNDING I, II, III, IV <br />476,161 <br />OMB Director Joe Baird pointed out that if the federal <br />government cut off the funding, the County would have- to decide <br />whether to fund it locally or reduce or eliminate the program. <br />Still to be resolved is his concern of whether the County would be <br />required to keep the program going because of the use of capital <br />money. <br />Commissioner Bird did not want the County to end up looking <br />like the grinch to people who used the transportation if federal <br />funding is not available in the future. <br />Commissioner Eggert suggested there were other ways, such as <br />increased fares, which could be looked at in the future, if <br />necessary, and pointed out that this would provide transportation <br />to the airport as well as other places. <br />The Chairman opened the public hearing and asked if anyone <br />wished to be heard in this matter. <br />Brian Heddy, 1770 5th Court, Vero Beach, asked for an <br />explanation of the component parts of the $286,000. <br />31 <br />September 19, 1995 <br />BOOK 96 PAjE 12 <br />
