s ` <br />ARTICLE III. ELECTRICAL CODE. -- <br />Section 1. TITLE. The provisions In this article shall con- <br />stitute and may be cited as "The Electrical Code" hereinafter <br />referred to as "this code. " <br />Section 2. CODE REMEDIAL. This code is remedial and <br />shall be construed to secure the beneficial interests and purposes <br />thereof --which are public safety, health and general welfare --through <br />safety to life and property from fire and other incidents to the install- <br />ation, alteration, repair and maintenance of electrical wiring apparatus <br />or equipment for lights, heat�i power and other uses or purposes. <br />Section 3. SCOPE. <br />(1) The provisions of this code shall apply to all electrical <br />construction, installation, alteration or repair and to all electrical <br />equipment and materials used, connected to or instal ext in any build- <br />ing, structure or appurtenance subject to this resolution as well as <br />the maintenance thereof. <br />(2) No provision of this code shall be held to deprive: any fed- <br />eral or state agency or any applicable govc,rnhig body having juris- <br />diction of any power or authority which It had on the effective date of <br />i <br />I <br />this resolution or of any rerriedy then existing for the enforcement of <br />tts orders, nor shall it deprive any Individual or corporation of its <br />legal rights as provided by law. <br />i <br />Section 4. NATIONAL ELECTRICAL EC:TRICAL COME ADOPTED. Indian <br />River County hereby adopts by .reference the 1.965 Edition of the <br />National Electrical Code published by the National Fire protection <br />Association as an electrical code for the county, subject to the limita- <br />tions, exceptions anti modifications in this article. Three (3) copies <br />of said code are on file in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court <br />for Indian River County. <br />Section S. MAINTENANCE.
