to Martin County Petroleum of Palm City as the lowest <br />most responsive and responsible bidders meeting <br />.specifications as set Forth in the Invitation to Bid. <br />2. Establish Open End Contracts with the above <br />referenced vendors for the various County Departments <br />budgeted accounts for fuel and lubricants. The initial <br />contract period shall begin October, 1, 1995. <br />3. Authorize the Purchasing Manager to renew this contract <br />on an annual basis subject to satisfactory performance, <br />zero cost increase, vendor acceptance, and the <br />determination that renewal is in the .best interest of <br />the County. <br />Commissioner Bird questioned the pricing on the bid <br />tabulation, and Director Sonny Dean advised that an oil pricing <br />sheet is printed every week reflecting a discount or plus in the <br />price to the County. A minus figure means that a discount will be <br />calculated at this amount, plus or minus the figures on the sheet <br />which is called the Oil Pricing Index Sheet. <br />Commissioner Bird then questioned whether this method is <br />consistent with previous pricings and bids, and Director Dean <br />responded that it is. Indian River County has formed a co- <br />operative group with St. Lucie and Brevard Counties in an effort to <br />obtain more favorable pricing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board by a 4-0 vote <br />(Commissioner Eggert being absent) unanimously <br />awarded Bid #6014 to Reliance Petroleum of Ft. <br />Pierce and to Martin County Petroleum of Palm City, <br />pursuant to staff's recommendations 1, 2 and 3. <br />F.
