Mora, P.E. <br />County Traffic Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Intersection Improvement Design Projects <br />Design Work Order No. 2 <br />Locations: 1. Winter Beach Road & SRAlA <br />2. 4th Street & 43rd Avenue <br />3. 4th Street & 20th Avenue <br />DATE: September 18, 1995 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Indian River County entered into a Master Agreement with Kimley- <br />Horn and Associates, Inc. in September, 1994, whereby Kimley-Horn <br />would provide. professional engineering design services to the <br />County. Kimley-Horn was the highest ranked consultant after <br />completion of the selection process for the Intersection <br />Improvement Design Program. These three intersection design <br />projects (Winter Beach Rd/AlA, 4 ST/43AV, & 4 ST/2a AV) represent <br />the 2nd design work order issued to Kimley-Horn under this <br />agreement. The first project was CR510 & U.S.1, which is nearing <br />design completion. These projects will provide safety and capacity <br />improvements at these intersections. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />Staff has negotiated a work order fee of $68,498 for this project. <br />Any additional projects will require approval of additional work <br />orders by the Board of County Commissioners. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS & FUNDING <br />It is recommended that Design Work Order No. 2 be approved. The <br />funding for these projects comes from Traffic Impact Fees in <br />Districts 1, 6 <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board by a 4-0 vote <br />(Commissioner Eggert being absent) unanimously <br />approved Design Work Order No. 2 with Kimley-Horn <br />and Associates, Inc. in the amount of $68,498, as <br />recommended by staff. <br />- WORK ORDER IS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE <br />CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />SEPTEMBER 26, 1995 40 <br />
