BOOK 96 PAF 993 <br />Mr. Casin admitted that this is a civil matter; it is a <br />contract dispute between Harris and Reasons and he felt sure that <br />the County doesn't want to be in the middle of it. However, when <br />Harris gets the County to assist them in shutting down Reasons, it <br />is, in effect, putting Mr. Reasons out of business. Mr. Reasons is <br />a small business man who has a few trucks and a few drivers. When <br />he shuts down, his drivers have to get other jobs and he is without <br />income and cannot make the payments on his trucks. <br />Mr. Casin stated that they prefer settling this matter with <br />Harris Sanitation, but Harris is unwilling to talk to them. <br />Commissioner Bird agreed that communication seems to be the <br />problem, but the lack of communication seems to be from Reasons' <br />side. The burden was on Reasons to comply with his contract with <br />Harris. <br />Commissioner Adams agreed. She was one of those who supported <br />Mr. Reasons when this all came about, but the lapse of insurance is <br />a serious problem and she would be hard pressed to support it this <br />time around. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Adams, the Board by a 4-0 vote <br />(Commissioner Eggert being absent) approved staff's <br />recommendation that Reasons Sanitation be prohibited <br />from disposing of waste at the County Landfill or <br />other facility. <br />EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT MEETING <br />Chairman Macht announced that immediately following <br />adjournment, the Board would convene as the Board of Commissioners <br />of the Emergency Services District.
