EM PROVEMENT PROTECT - UTILITY <br />RELOCATION SCHEDULE AND AGREEMENT <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 10/3/95: <br />DATE: OCTOBER 3, 1995 <br />TO: JAMES E. CHANDLER <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />FROM: TERRANCE G. PINTO <br />DIRECTOR OF UTILI ERVICES <br />PREPARED WILLIAM F. IN <br />AND STAFFED CAPITAL GINEER <br />BY: DEPAR ILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: 27TH AVENUE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENTS <br />PROJECT <br />UTILITY RELOCATION SCHEDULE AND AGREEMENT <br />BACKGROUND AND ANALYSIS <br />The Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) is preparing to bid and construct <br />improvements to State Road 607 (27th Avenue) from the South Indian River <br />County line to State Road 60, commencing at the end of 1995. As a result of <br />this work, approximately 73 valves and 10 fire hydrants will require <br />adjustment and relocation. The D.O.T. has agreed to handle the adjustment to <br />all valves within the paved areas which represents 50% ± of the effected <br />valves. The County will be responsible for the adjustment/relocation of all <br />remaining appurtenances within the project boundaries. The Utilities <br />Department will accomplish this work through an agreement with the D.O.T.'s <br />contractor or with our continuing construction services contractor at an <br />estimated cost not to exceed $25,000 ±. Funding for this project will be <br />from the renewal and replacement fund.. Please see the attached proposed <br />utility relocation schedule agreement and the proposed County resolution for <br />the D.O.T. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends approval of the <br />proposed resolution and utility relocation agreement by the Board of County <br />Commissioners for signature and request authorization for staff to issue a <br />purchase order for the work as required. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board by a 4-0 vote <br />(Commissioner Eggert being absent) adopted <br />Resolution 95-137, authorizing execution of an <br />utilities agreement for the adjustment, change or <br />relocation of certain utilities within certain <br />right-of-way limits. <br />59 <br />OCTOBER 17, 1995 <br />
