Ennis, P.E., Assistant Public Works Director <br />FROM: Kirstin Leiendecker, P.E., Roadway Production Manager <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid No. 2022028 <br />Resurfacing 69th Street From 66th Avenue to SRS/US-1 <br />Project No. IRC -1639, FM No. 438073-1-54-01 <br />DATE: April 22, 2022 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />RUM <br />On April 9, 2019, the Board of County Commissioners approved Work Order No. 8 to Kimley-Horn and <br />Associates, Inc. to develop construction documents and obtain jurisdictional approvals to rehabilitate the <br />existing 69th Street roadway pavement between 66th Avenue and U.S. Highway 1, approximately 2.5 miles <br />in length. The proposed improvements will inzlude full depth reclamation of existing pavement, <br />installation of superpave asphaltic concrete, including paved shoulders for bike lanes, and installation of <br />thermoplastic pavement markings. <br />On January 12, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners approved a Small County Outreach Program <br />(SCOP) grant from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) in the maximum amount of <br />$1,128,607.00 for Construction and CEI services for the milling and resurfacing of 69' Street from 66th <br />Avenue to SR5/US-1. <br />On November 16, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners approved Work Order No. 46 to Kimley-Horn <br />and Associates, Inc. to develop construction documents and obtain the required permits for the <br />installation of approximately 5,900 linear feet of a 12 -inch water main along 69th Street between 58th <br />Avenue to 650 -feet west of 39th Court. The Utility Department requested the water main installation be <br />bid and constructed concurrently with the pavement rehabilitation as the water main installation lies <br />within the pavement rehabilitation limits of construction. <br />The project was advertised for bids and a bid opening for the project "69"h Street from 66th Avenue to <br />SR5/US-1, Resurfacing" was held on April 1, 2022.
