Division 2 -Technical Provisions, IRC -1639 <br />Roadway Design Standard Index No. 505, Embankment Utilization Details is modified by the <br />addition of the following: <br />Any stratum or stockpile or soil which contains obvious pockets of highly organic material <br />may be designated as muck or unsuitable for construction of subgrade by the Owner. <br />Backfill material containing more than 2.0% by weight of organic material, as determined by <br />FM 1-T 267 and by averaging the test results for three randomly selected samples from each <br />stratum or stockpile of a particular material, shall not be used in construction of the <br />reinforced volume. If an individual test value of the three samples exceeds 3.0%, the stratum <br />or stockpile will not be suitable for construction of the reinforced volume. <br />No A-8 material permitted in embankment. <br />Item of Payment <br />Payment for the work specified in this item shall be made under: <br />Bid Item No. 120-1— Regular Excavation — Per Cubic Yard <br />Bid Item No. 120-6 — Embankment - Per Cubic Yard <br />SECTION 160 - STABILIZING <br />A. Section 160 is modified by the addition of the following: <br />"The stabilization thickness indicated on plans shall be considered a minimum thickness. <br />Thickness will vary to conform to the lines, and grades shown in the plans." Minimum L.B.R. <br />= 40 - No under -tolerance. <br />Item of Payment <br />Payment for the work specified in this item shall be made under: <br />Bid Item No. 160-4—Type B Stabilization - Per Square Yard <br />SECTION 283 — RECLAIMED ASPHALT PAVEMENT BASE <br />DESCRIPTION - This work shall consist of the preparation of a base course constructed by in-place <br />pulverizing and blending of the existing bituminous pavement and base materials, and the <br />introduction of asphalt emulsion or foamed asphalt and other additives, if called for in the mix <br />design.
